1.8Diminished chord

Now we can revisit your earlier question.

A diminished triad consists of:

root + minor 3rd + diminished 5th

Numerically:

0 + 3 + 6 semitones

For B:

B → D = 3 semitones

B → F = 6 semitones

So:

B° = B D F

= си ре фа

Play it.

Then immediately play:

C E G

C E G

You should hear:

B° → C

as tension → resolution.

That is not an arbitrary theory rule. Your ear can hear why the chord map has an arrow there.
