Module 30 — Melodic Transformation: Changing the Tune Without Losing It
This module gets very close to the original “same melody at increasing levels of complexity” idea.
The big question is:
How much can you change a melody before it stops being that melody?
A strong transformation keeps enough of the original tune’s identity while changing:
- contour,
- rhythm,
- register,
- intervals,
- ornamentation,
- phrase structure,
- harmonic interpretation.
The core principle is:
