For any tune:
- Find the melody by ear.
- Find tonic/key.
- Write scale degrees.
- Find phrase structure.
- Find basic bass/chords.
- Reduce harmony to functions.
- Choose style.
- Choose accompaniment texture.
- Voice chords around the melody.
- Improve bass line.
- Add color tones.
- Add fills and inner movement.
- Reharmonize selectively.
- Add counterpoint.
- Transform rhythm/meter if desired.
- Design intro, climax, ending.
