Early in the course:

“What chord fits this melody note?”

Now:

“Where is the phrase ultimately going?”

“What bass line gives it inevitability?”

“Which temporary destinations deserve weight?”

“Which notes can remain common while the harmony moves?”

That is much closer to arranging/composing.
