At the beginning of our work, a progression might have appeared to you as:

Now you can simultaneously perceive:
- local chord quality
- guide-tone motion
- ii–V packets
- temporary destinations
- bass direction
- groove
- articulation
- rhythmic anticipation
- texture
- larger section architecture
That sounds like more information.
But paradoxically, fluent musicians experience it as less information because they compress it into larger objects.
