101.3A simple example
Instead of writing:
Bar 1: Cmaj9 voicing X.
Bar 2: Am7 voicing Y.
Bar 3: Dm9 voicing Z.
Write rules:
- first phrase stays sparse
- melody always foreground
- bass moves mostly stepwise
- no altered harmony before phrase 3
- fills only during rests
- phrase 4 cadence is strongest
Now many note-level realizations can work.
