10.40Why 3rd inversion matters
In C7:
C E G B♭
third inversion puts B♭ in bass:
B♭ C E G
written:
C7/B♭
This often creates a bass line moving downward toward another chord.
So seventh-chord inversions give us even more bass-line control.
