24.3Play melody louder than accompaniment

This sounds elementary, but it's one of the hardest technical skills.

RH may be playing:

  • melody with finger 5,
  • inner harmony with fingers 1–3.

You want:

melody = projected

inner voices = softer

This is called voicing in the performance sense.

Not chord voicing—the other meaning of voicing.
