For:

Am7 → Dm7 → G7 → Cmaj7 → Fmaj7

you can think mostly:

C major

Then:

Bm7♭5 → E7 → Am

think:

A minor, with G♯ appearing over E7.

This is much simpler than changing modal labels every bar.
