Write 30 bars—five large six-bar units if you like—in C Dorian/Minor.

Requirements:

  • main meter 6/4
  • 3+3 bass ostinato
  • 2+2+2 RH section
  • one four-beat repeating motif
  • one five-beat repeating motif
  • one brief 4/4 section using the same four-beat motif
  • one return to 6/4
  • one functional G7♭9→Cm cadence
  • one rhythmic resolution without harmonic resolution
  • one simultaneous harmonic/rhythmic resolution

Keep harmonic roots to roughly three or four.

The goal is not harmonic abundance.

It is temporal architecture.
