29.14Avoid accidental parallel fifths/octaves in classical-style writing

Suppose:

LH C → D

RH G → A

Both intervals are perfect fifths.

C-G → D-A.

That's parallel fifth motion.

In strict classical counterpoint, this is generally avoided because the voices fuse perceptually.

Same with octaves:

C-C → D-D.

For our practical arranging:

You do not need to panic about every parallel fifth, but recognize the sound and decide whether you want it.

Pop and rock may use it deliberately.
