• choose either 2–3 or 3–2 and stay oriented
• one two-bar bass pattern
• one two-bar piano montuno pattern
• Cm as primary center
• one F7 area
• one G7♭9→Cm functional cadence
• one four-bar bass breakdown
• one montuno-only section
• one octave climax
• no more than four harmonic roots

The composition should remain recognizable even if you mute the melody.

That means the rhythmic architecture is doing real structural work.
