You should eventually be able to sit at the piano and simultaneously know:

where beat 1 is

which half of the clave you are in

where the bass pattern is

where the harmony is going

what RH pattern is repeating

where your melodic phrase is going

without consciously verbalizing any of it.

That sounds impossible when written as six tasks.

But remember what we learned from “Giant Steps”:

fluency comes from chunking.

Eventually you do not track individual events.

You hear:

the groove as one object.
