21.12Secondary dominant as reharmonization test
Suppose melody note over Am is A.
Before Am, E7 is easy because A may occur as suspension/11 or be delayed.
Suppose melody is G natural.
Now E7 contains G♯.
That may clash strongly.
So the reharmonization is not automatically appropriate.
Always test against melody.
