23.56Transition between sections

Suppose verse ends in C and chorus needs more energy.

You can transition by:

  • increasing register,
  • increasing accompaniment density,
  • adding dominant preparation,
  • changing rhythm,
  • using a fill,
  • using a rising bass,
  • temporarily reharmonizing.

The transition doesn't have to mean key change.
