29.22Now the important new concept: parallel sus chords

Suppose the bass moves to a new root.

You can carry almost the same voicing structure with it.

Example conceptually:

G7sus

→ A♭7sus.

Move everything up a semitone.

The harmonic relationship is not:

V→I.

It is:

same sound-world moved to a different pitch center.

That is planing.
