3.16Relative minor versus parallel minor
These are easy to confuse.
Relative minor
C major ↔ A minor
They share the same notes/key signature.
Parallel minor
C major ↔ C minor
They share the same tonic.
But the scales differ:
C major:
C D E F G A B
C natural minor:
C D E♭ F G A♭ B♭
This distinction becomes extremely important for borrowed chords later.
