Suppose melody note is C, chord is Am.

You need a voicing with C on top.

Instead of:

A C E

play:

E A C

Right hand.

Left hand can play A.

Similarly:

melody E over C:

right hand:

G C E

left hand:

C

This is where Module 4's inversions become practical.
