18.29Blues scale over dominant harmony

In a basic C blues, you might use C blues scale across:

C7

C7 = C E G B♭

F7

F7 = F A C E♭

G7

G7 = G B D F

even though the scale doesn't perfectly spell every chord.

Why does it work?

Because blues language is not purely chord-scale matching.

It relies on characteristic tensions, bends/inflections, repetition, and phrasing.

This is a useful warning:

Theory describes style; style is not always reducible to “every note matches every chord.”
