22.14Tritone substitution of secondary dominants

In C:

A7 → Dm

A7 can be replaced by its tritone substitute:

E♭7 → Dm

So:

C → E♭7 → Dm → G7 → C

Now the bass can move:

C → E♭ → D

or with other inversions, even smoother.
