22.47Don't substitute every dominant

The progression above is an experiment, not necessarily tasteful.

If every dominant becomes a tritone substitute, the effect stops being surprising.

A more musical choice might be:

Cmaj7 → E7 → Am7 → E♭7 → Dm7 → G7 → Cmaj7

Cmaj7 → E7 → Am7 → E♭7 → Dm7 → G7 → Cmaj7

Only A7 was replaced by E♭7.

One unexpected turn may be more effective.
