Original:

Cmaj7 → E7 → Am7 → A7 → Dm7 → G7 → Cmaj7

Replace some dominants:

E7 → B♭7

A7 → E♭7

G7 → D♭7

Result:

Cmaj7 → B♭7 → Am7 → E♭7 → Dm7 → D♭7 → Cmaj7

Look at root motion:

C → B♭ → A → E♭ → D → D♭ → C.

Very chromatic.

This is much jazzier and more aggressive.
