This workshop is essentially the methodology we will later use for “The Bare Necessities” and “Mack the Knife.”
Instead of learning one “correct” accompaniment, we'll separate:

the recognizable tune and phrase structure.
Variables
- bass
- chord vocabulary
- harmonic rhythm
- groove
- meter
- voicing
- texture
- register
- introductions/endings
- improvisational inserts
Then we'll deliberately create multiple versions.
That is the difference between:
knowing a song
and:
owning a song as an arranger.
