You should gradually build several patterns that your hands know automatically.

Pattern A — block

Good for:

  • dramatic accents
  • hymns
  • simple accompaniment
Pattern B — bass + chord

Good for:

  • pop
  • ballads
  • accompanying singing
Pattern C — arpeggio

Good for:

  • ballads
  • romantic style
  • introspective music
Pattern D — Alberti

Good for:

  • classical flavor
  • lighter textures
Pattern E — waltz

Good for:

  • 3/4
Pattern F — open fifth + upper chord

Good for:

  • modern solo piano
  • cinematic texture

These become tools, not rules.
