8.6Broken-chord accompaniment

You do not have to move strictly upward.

Try:

root – fifth – third – fifth

For C:

C-G-E-G

C-G-E-G

For Am:

A-E-C-E

For F:

F-C-A-C

F-C-A-C

For G:

G-D-B-D

G-D-B-D

You’ll notice this resembles Alberti bass, but you can place it higher, split it between hands, and alter the rhythm.
