15.11The useful borrowed-chord palette in major
In a major key, common borrowed chords from parallel minor include:
- iv
- ♭III
- ♭VI
- ♭VII
- sometimes ii°
- sometimes v
You do not need all of them equally often.
For practical arranging, start with:
iv, ♭VI, ♭VII
Those three are extremely useful.
